the myth of the missing moon

the myth of the missing moon.

Yes, this!

I have been noticing the moon a lot more lately. Driving my oldest to school while it’s still dark, Moonie (as my toddler calls him) is our guiding light.

The way the moon lights up my bedroom and kitchen in the wee hours.

The days that life goes on without noticing the moon, only to be driving mindlessly on an errand at dusk, looking up and seeing  a full or half cilookup laced there just for you.

Being able to tell my toddler that Moonie is still there, we just can’t see him right now. He’ll be back. Just like when daddy travels for work. Even when we can’t see him, he is still with us. And when we can see him our lives have a little extra light shining in them.
